I have to give this book 5 stars. I was hooked from the moment I read the first page. The story of 3 different women bound first by having children in kindergarten together and then tied together through a horrific incident.
Madeline, the outspoken, strong willed always ready to speak up for the underdog befriends a young single mother who rescues her when she sprains her ankle while giving her unwanted opinion to a car load of teens. Celeste, the beautiful woman living the perfect life with a handsome, charming and very wealthy husband rounds out the trio.
Taking place on Pirriwee Beach area outside of Sydney, the three women live at three very distinct income levels. Jane, the single mother gets by. Madeline lives a comfortable suburban life and Celeste lives a life of the very wealthy. If you’ve ever been involved as a school volunteer you will instantly identify with the childish behavior of the class moms.
Behind every closed door there is another story waiting to be told if we look hard enough. The author using a reporter interview questions throughout the book to show we all see and believe what we want.
I loved this book and definitely will read other books by Liane Moriarty.
