The story begins in sunny Los Angeles centered on a pompous and conceited entertainment attorney. Loving the limelight, lawyer, Danny Roth devises a plan for his world class wine collection and cellar to be the focus of a newspaper article.
This results in a sophisticated and well orchestrated heist of wine valued at nearly $3,000,000. The insurance company must investigate before paying the claim and calls in Sam Levitt, former attorney, turned their, turned investigator to figure out exactly what happens.
It from here the author takes us on a trip to Paris through Burgundy and onto Marseilles. The descriptions of the food, wine and countryside made me ready to buy a ticket for a pond hopping trip.
While not a super suspenseful take or one laced with romance, it is still an enjoyable way to spend a few hours reading.
